The events of a German terrorist group are followed. They are a fraction of the Red Army known as Baader-Meinhof, after the last names of its leaders, Andreas Baader (Moritz Bleibtreu) and Urlike Meinhof (Martina Gedeck). The film follows the lives and actions of the protagonists of Baader-Meinfoh group in Germany during 1970’s. Their involvement in the riots is depicted, as well as their endeavour to change what they see as an unacceptable social and political order by planting bombs and killing the representatives of the capitalist society they condemn. The group gets arrested which leads to the demise of several of its members in prison.
